Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival · Ulaanbaatar
Welcome reception and city orientation. Briefing on Naadam history, traditions and ceremony etiquette. Hotel check-in.
Day 2
City Exploration · Pre-Naadam Atmosphere
Gandan Monastery, National Museum of Mongolia, Chinggis Khan Statue complex. The city buzzes with arriving contestants and spectators. Evening traditional cultural performance.
Day 3
Naadam Opening Ceremony
Good seats at the spectacular opening ceremony at the National Stadium. Processions of wrestlers in full regalia, traditional music performances, and the Mongolian President's opening address.
Day 4
The Three Games — Full Day
Chartered bus to the child horse racing ceremony at the steppes outside Ulaanbaatar.
Day 5
Tsagaan Suvarga — White Stupa
Depart for one of Mongolia's most striking geological formations — the White Stupa (Tsagaan Suvarga). Ancient seabed sediments have been sculpted by wind and rain into towering white-and-ochre cliffs that glow at sunset like a lost city. Camp at the base as the colours shift across the stone.
Day 6
Bayan Zag — Flaming Cliffs
Drive to Bayan Zag — the legendary Flaming Cliffs where American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews first discovered dinosaur eggs in the 1920s. The red sandstone formations burn brilliant orange at dusk. Explore the fossil-rich terrain with your guide and camp among the cliffs as the Gobi sky fills with stars.
Day 7
Khongor Sand Dunes — Singing Dunes
Arrive at the magnificent Khongoryn Els — the largest sand dunes in Mongolia, rising up to 300 metres above the desert floor. Climb the ridgeline at sunset for an extraordinary panorama. Listen for the low, resonant hum of the "singing dunes" as the wind moves across the sand. Bactrian camel ride available.
Day 8
Yoliin Am — Eagle Valley
Hike to the beautiful gorge of the Three Beautiful Mountains, known as Yolin Am. This narrow gorge remains cool even during the summer heat. Take in the stunning contrast between the Lammergeier Gorge and the surrounding desert, where the landscape is rugged with broken rocks.
Day 9
Baga Gazriin Chuluu — Rock Formations
Explore the ancient granite rock formations of Baga Gazriin Chuluu — a sacred landscape of wind-carved boulders, hidden meditation caves, and a small monastery tucked between the stones. The area has been a spiritual site for centuries and holds a quiet, timeless atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Mongolia.
Day 10
Return to Ulaanbaatar
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar through the rolling steppe. Arrive in the capital by late afternoon. Farewell dinner with your guide — a celebration of ten extraordinary days crossing Mongolia from the festival grounds to the heart of the Gobi.
